AGORA is a new exhibition space in the Contemporary Art Building (BAC) dedicated to the presentation of works from Geneva's public collections. As the first part of a series of projects prefiguring the future functioning of the BAC after its renovation (planned for 2025-2026), the new space brings together, on two levels, works acquired by the FCAC (Fonds Cantonal d'Art Contemporain), produced within the framework of the Biennales de l’Image en Mouvement du Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève or from the collections of the MAMCO. With free access, it offers two different exhibitions per year, directed by Lionel Bovier. The first episode brought together Ed Atkins, Caroline Bachmann, Sonia Kacem, Vincent Kohler and Nam June Paik.

AGORA's programming aims to make visible the patrimonial work of the different structures active on the contemporary art scene in Geneva and to underline that their respective collections are common resources. The venue also offers the public the opportunity to discover artists from the Swiss and international scene who have recently benefited from the support of the building's institutions or Geneva's funds.
