Mikael Lo Presti (born in Sodra Sandby, Sweden in 1989. He lives and works in Stockholm).

Mikael Lo Presti is a Swedish artist whose paintings are informed by his examination of art history, his own family heritage and particular signifiers of our collective contemporary moment. Lo Presti’s work evokes a feeling of belonging both to different times and settings at once. His recent direction has seen him place a focused interest on still-life painting, where he has approached the traditional theme in his own captivating visual language. Motives of lone figures which find themselves in moments of the in-between or inactivity are also frequently explored within the paintings, drawing from both personal memory and history.

His recent solo exhibitions include Stormen kunst/dájdda at Bodø, Norway ; Day After Day at STANDARD (OSLO), Norway, A tree that will not rot, at Frankfurt am Main in Berlin ; Dancing moths, Running dogs and Sun-dried cloth at STANDARD (OSLO), Norway. His work was included in several group exhibitions such as Before Tomorrow - Astrup Fearnley Museet 30 Years at Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo, Norway (2023) ; Stranger than Fiction at Galleri Magnus Karlsson, Stockholm, Sweden (2023) ; Half hearted, whole hearted at Heerz Tooya, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria (2023) ; Ups & Downs – 15 years of STANDARD (OSLO) at STANDARD (OSLO), Oslo, Norway (2020) and at Condo, Bureau, New York, USA (2019).

Mikael Lo Presti est un artiste suédois, dont les peintures s'inspirent de son étude de l'histoire de l'art, de son propre héritage familial et de signifiants particuliers de notre époque contemporaine. Le travail de Lo Presti évoque un sentiment d'appartenance à la fois à des époques et à des lieux différents. Récemment, il s'est intéressé à la peinture de natures mortes et a abordé ce thème traditionnel dans son propre langage visuel captivant. Les motifs de figures solitaires qui se trouvent dans des moments d'entre-deux ou d'inactivité sont également fréquemment explorés dans ses peintures, puisant dans sa mémoire personnelle et l'histoire.
