Davide Balula (born in 1978 in Vila Dum Santo, Viseu, Portugal – lives and works in New York)
French artist David Balula's multi-sensorial practice investigates chance encounters, random patterns, and the materiality of time. Although he works within various media, including sound, installation and painting, his art can takes the form of recording devices, unusual measuring tools, and scientific experiments. He regularly collaborates with chefs, dancers, and musicians on performances and improvisation concerts. His solo exhibitions and performances have been presented at Performa 09, Centre Georges Pompidou, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow and MoMA PS1, New York.
